PARC Fall Bus Tour

September 23-29, 2018

Vermont & New Hampshire

Pittsburgh Alcoa/Arconic Retirees Club invites you, your family and friends for a 7-day, 6-night bus trip to Vermont & New Hampshire. Stops along the way include a tour of Lake Placid and, on the return, to the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival.

Cost of the trip will be $1150 per person, double occupancy; $1380 per person for a single room. Please complete the enclosed reservation form and return with a deposit of $100/person by May 15. The balance will be due June 15.

You are encouraged to purchase travel insurance by visiting or calling 1-800-388-1470 to enroll for Basic or Enhanced travel insurance coverage from NTA Travel Protection. (Tour Operator Location #386097).

(If you expect to purchase the Enhanced Travel Insurance Plan which covers preexisting conditions, note enrollment must be completed and paid for within 14 days of the date you made the deposit. Be sure to keep a copy of your check for verification in the event of a claim.)

We will be accepting donations for the Pittsburgh Area Chapter of the Salvation Army and the Brother's Brother Foundation.  Boxes will be available monetary donations. Make checks payable to “SALVATION ARMY” and/or “Brother's Brother Foundation".  Donations are tax deductible.

Symphony Discounts

Kay Kukich tells us that she is able to get group rates for tickets to both the classical and pops concerts presented by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.  The pops concerts are on a Sunday afternoon and the price is $35, well below the normal price.  Classical
tickets are a bit more expensive as the seats are in the orchestra section of Heinz Hall.  If you are interested, please contact Kay.

The PARC Program Committee has been asked about promoting PARC member participation in group tours that have not been organized by the PARC Program Committee. 
An example is the National Parks trip, organized by a PARC member, where anyone can participate and groups are welcome.  While such trips will not be sponsored by PARC, we have developed the following guidelines to permit ‘advertising’ a specific trip in the PARC newsletter and on the web site.  These are:

    1. the trip must be organized by a PARC member or an Alcoa employee,
    2. that person must participate in the trip, and
    3. if there are any trip rebates, including group discounts and free trips for having a certain number of attendees, these must be equally shared by all participants.
