PARC Spring Trip

PARC Spring Event
 Narcisi Winery Tour, Tasting, and Lunch
Thursday, May 16, 2019

PARC is offering a 90-minute tour of the Narcisi Winery in Gibsonia followed by lunch at Narcisi’s La Vite Ristorante on Thursday, May 16.

The tour will begin with a visit to the vineyards and then move to the wine production area where we will learn the whole wine making process from start to finish. Immediately following the tour, there will be a private tasting. The tasting explores five of their most dynamic wines— the grapes, the overall characteristics, and the aromatics of the wine. We will also learn how to swirl, smell, and sip--to get the full wine tasting experience. A Narcisi logo tasting glass included with the tour.

            11:00 a.m. - Tour winery

                                 Tour is limited to 40 people

                                 Cost:     $20/person

            12:30 p.m. - Lunch following the tour

                                Cost: $28/person

Lunch will include:

            Insalata Vite – Field greens, red onions, and candied walnuts, tossed in red wine vinaigrette and topped with feta cheese.

            Wedding soup

And your choice of one of the following:

            Capellini Pomodoro – Grilled chicken in a fresh Italian tomato sauce tossed with capellini pasta and topped with pesto bread crumbs.

            Veal Marsala - Italian breaded veal lightly fried and baked golden brown topped with a mushroom marsala. Served with herb linguine.

            Lasagna - Hearty homemade lasagna stuffed with house made Bolognese and a seasoned ricotta filling.

11:00 a.m. - Waterfront Room - Cash Bar
12:15 p.m. - Reflections Room - Welcome

12:30 p.m. - Reflections Room - Lunch Served

rosemary infused demi glace), or
                      Atlantic Salmon
                         (Fresh oven baked Atlantic salmon fillet with a
tangy teriyaki glaze), or

We will be accepting donations for the Pittsburgh Area Chapter of the Salvation Army and the Brother's Brother Foundation.  Boxes will be available monetary donations. Make checks payable to “SALVATION ARMY” and/or “Brother's Brother Foundation".  Donations are tax deductible.

Symphony Discounts

Kay Kukich tells us that she is able to get group rates for tickets to both the classical and pops concerts presented by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.  The pops concerts are on a Sunday afternoon and the price is $35, well below the normal price.  Classical
tickets are a bit more expensive as the seats are in the orchestra section of Heinz Hall.  If you are interested, please contact Kay.

The PARC Program Committee has been asked about promoting PARC member participation in group tours that have not been organized by the PARC Program Committee. 
An example is the National Parks trip, organized by a PARC member, where anyone can participate and groups are welcome.  While such trips will not be sponsored by PARC, we have developed the following guidelines to permit ‘advertising’ a specific trip in the PARC newsletter and on the web site.  These are:

    1. the trip must be organized by a PARC member or an Alcoa employee,
    2. that person must participate in the trip, and
    3. if there are any trip rebates, including group discounts and free trips for having a certain number of attendees, these must be equally shared by all participants.
